How many years have you been teaching?Ìý
“I have been teaching for four years at my alma mater, Roosevelt High School. I teach English, Ethnic Studies, and Journalism to 9th and 10th-gradeÌýstudents.”Ìý
ÌýHow has Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ helped you in the classroom?Ìý
“Inside the classroom Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, AmeriCorps members have been able to balance the [student’s] energies and help provide assistance to the students. AmeriCorps members have also helped with supporting students to build their social-emotional skill development. I have appreciated having another adult in the classroom to work with students.â€Ìý
ÌýWhat is your favorite thing about teaching 9th and 10th-gradeÌýstudents?Ìý
“Teaching at Roosevelt High School has been such an amazing experience since I am able to work alongside my former teachers who are now my colleagues. I enjoy that I have been able to expand on my relationships with my past teachers. I like that I also get to learn about new music through my students.“
