Your corps experience

�鶹��Ƶ is a key partner to both the East Baton Rouge Parish School District and several Charter Management Operators in the community, helping to create equitable learning opportunities for all students and develop the city’s future leaders. AmeriCorps members support teachers and staff in delivering instruction that serves the development of the whole child and is responsive to the diverse racial, cultural and linguistic needs of Baton Rouge youth.

With more than 69% of students tutored by AmeriCorps members last year ending their on-track in grades, AmeriCorps members are truly making an impact. A close-knit community with ample opportunities to develop meaningful personal and professional relationships, Baton Rouge is an ideal place to serve. By engaging students, families and community organizations, �鶹��Ƶ helps our schools increase student achievement while also supporting students’ social-emotional learning and well-being. Together, we are developing students to be college and career-ready!

Serving in Baton Rouge schools

Serve in an elementary, middle or K–8 school throughout the Baton Rouge area. Each school has its own culture and character, but all are dedicated to helping their students succeed. Work with “Girls on the Run” at one of our elementary schools or take part in Homecoming Week at one of our middle schools!

Work with a committed and diverse group of 6–10 �鶹��Ƶ AmeriCorps members who share your passion for service and personal growth. Spend time getting to know and working closely with your team and school every day, while taking time every month to celebrate successes and collaborate on projects with the entire corps during Learning and Development Days.

Work closely with your Impact Manager to help best your students, schools and team. Additionally, �鶹��Ƶ Baton Rouge AmeriCorps members have opportunities to specialize on projects pertaining to social media and branding, community and physical service, AmeriCorps member experience, and much more! Take time to get to know our twenty-two staff members and collaborate in unique ways to help the site accomplish all of its goals.

Community involvement

Create a positive climate of high expectations and engagement that ripples throughout the greater Baton Rouge community as you volunteer to serve alongside community partners like BREC (Parks and Recreation), Big Buddy, the Arts Council of Baton Rouge and many other organizations that are having a great impact in the community.
